Hi, my name is Alex Kaminski. I’m an independent and professional 3D designer based in New York City. My specialties include texturing, shading, lighting, rendering and digital sculpting. Over my 10 years working in the business, I’ve been lucky enough to contribute to a number of well received projects including the “Lipstick Cemetery Live Show” where I was responsible for developing 3D concepts and video art for the branding and marketing of the entire music festival. In addition, in the past 5 years I’ve been so fortunate as to work for companies well known in the advertising and cinematic world including Pixeler, Landymotion and Inmovement.
I’ve had the honor of receiving the 3D Society Award in 2010, Excellent Rendering Award in 2011 and 123D Award in 2015.
I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t fascinated with art and the visual world. You could say my career began when, at the age of 12, I picked up a can of spray paint and got into tagging and graffiti. By 15 I was doing commissioned graffiti murals and prints for family, friends, and some businesses too. In high school I moved to the world of digital design, in college found further inspiration in geometric shapes, bright colors and material design.
Currently my primary focus is realistic and stylized rendering for print and video. In my designs, I enjoy exploring with reflections, material textures, lights and shadows that interact with each other in a playful way. I draw inspirations from candy, glassblowing, and neon street signs. I welcome you to peruse my most recent projects on my site, or contact me to inquire regarding my availability.
